Six in the Books

Junior days have become incredibly important for Texas over the last few years. The Longhorns had another big day on Sunday racking up five commitments from the 2009 class. With Garrett Gilbert’s pledge at the end of last week, UT now has six verbal commitments in all.

Moses Alipate Commits to Minnesota

Moses Alipate, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound junior quarterback from Bloomington Jefferson, has committed to Minnesota. Alipate, the son of former NFL player Tuineau, is one of the top two-sports athletes in Minnesota's Class of 2009. Alipate is the second in-state junior to commit to Minnesota, joining Josh Campion, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound tackle from Fergus Falls.

Hears from Two New Programs

Paden Kelley Commits!

Lake Travis quarterback Garrett Gilbert gave his verbal pledge to Texas on Thursday afternoon and it didn’t take long for one of his high school teammates to follow suite. Offensive tackle Paden Kelley received an offer from Mack Brown and company during his junior day visit and is now committed to play football at the University of Texas.

Women’s Basketball Falls on Road to Mississippi State, 83-71

Prime Time Shootout: Day Two

The Prime Time Shootout reconvened in Trenton over the weekend and SOR was in the house Saturday night to catch the days’ last two games. We saw Lincoln H.S., led by Lance Stephenson and Rutgers target James Padgett, take on Rice, with UConn-bound Kemba Walker and another young man high on RU’s radar, Durand Scott. The finale was a classic, as Oak Hill took on St. Pat’s.
