13 Members of Men’s S&D Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll

The University of Florida men's swimming and diving program was once again well represented on the Southeastern Conference's Winter Academic Honor Roll as 13 student-athletes were named to the list.

Eight Gator Gymnasts on SEC Academic Honor Roll

Eight members of the University of Florida gymnastics team were named Wednesday to the 2007-08 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Mike Slive. The 2007-08 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2007 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.

Franz Beard’s Basketball Confidential

It was not a surprise that Marreese Speights declared for the NBA Tuesday and it shouldn’t be a surprise whether he stays in the draft or comes back to Florida. Unlike a lot of kids that declare for early entry to the NBA Speights is surrounded by good people who have no personal agenda. The only thing they want to ensure is that whatever decision is made it’s made with the best possible information.

No. 21 Baseball Handles North Florida, 5-3

Sophomore Jonathan Pigott (Ormond Beach, Fla.) delivered a tie-breaking two-out RBI single in the seventh inning to lift No. 21 Florida (22-10) to a 5-3 victory over North Florida (18-14) on Tuesday. The Gators overcame a 3-0 deficit with three runs in the third and used Pigott's single to even the series with the Ospreys.
