"I'm open," Kevin Newsome said. "I'm still traveling and trying to see as many schools as I can. I'd like to commit in August, but it's not certain. I'd just like to be as focused as possible to win games during the season and I don't want recruiting to be a distraction." Newsome expects a difficult task in narrowing his favorites. He's focusing on academics and getting a fair chance to play.

Softball Earns Perfect Record Over Instate Teams in Regular Season Play

Thanks in part to a career-high nine strikeouts by freshman Stephanie Brombacher in game one and three two-out RBI by sophomore Francesca Enea in game two, the Florida softball team improved to 53-2 on the season with wins over Jacksonville.
