Baseball Overwhelms USF, 12-2

All nine Florida starters contributed at least one hit and the Gators (31-20) used a four-run fifth and a five-run seventh inning to cruise past USF (26-25), 12-2, on Tuesday night at McKethan Stadium. Sophomore Clayton Pisani (Naples, Fla.) (2-for-4) set a career high with four RBI and clubbed a two-run homer.

Since the 85-scholarship rule was implemented, it has placed a premium on quality kids who can get into to school and stay in school. Instead of automatically redshirting freshmen, coaches are looking for those capable of playing immediately and contributing for four straight years.
