In our business, you hear stuff from the recruiting trail. It’s not uncommon for schools and perhaps some of their recruits trying to help the recruiting process to stretch a fact here and there but when it comes to some of Florida’s top rivals recruiting head to head against the Gators, we think they have signed a blood oath to never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Over the years, Gator Country has politely --- and sometimes not so politely --- called out a rival that seems to be having a field day skewering the facts. Tonight, we’re calling out the Georgia Bulldogs and we can safely predict that some of those fine folks who bleed red and black will call us liars and bashers, but truth is, it isn’t bashing if you’ve got facts and we’ve got facts.

The celebration lasted all of about one minute. Everybody on the field and in the dugout sprinted to the middle of the infield where they hugged and jumped up and down for a bit. It hasn’t been that long since the Pepperell Dragons last won a GA state championship (1990), but in football years that’s a lifetime. Success has been no stranger to Lindale since then and just last year they took a strong Dublin team to the wire in the third round. Check out the roster and it's easy to see why fans are so excited about the years to come and it all starts with the QB.

Stacey Nelson was walking the pitcher’s version of the tightrope Friday afternoon against a pesky California team that wasn’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball but still getting runners in scoring position. From the fourth inning on, Nelson seemed perpetually in trouble, always one pitch away from disaster. But, as the Golden Bears found out, it’s one thing to get runners in scoring position against the Florida ace. It’s another thing altogether to bring them home.
