Alajajian goes public with Florida commit

Sooner or later, everybody figured that Nick Alajajian was going to be a Gator. Sooner took precedent Tuesday when the 6-4, 280-pound offensive tackle from Naples made a public commitment to the University of Florida.

17 Gator Baseball Players Chosen To SEC Academic Honor Roll

Seventeen members of the Gator baseball team were named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll announced on Tuesday. The total matched the highest number of Academic All-SEC recipients for Florida baseball in school history, set in 2003.

Baseball’s den Dekker Named To 2008 USA National Team

Sophomore Matt den Dekker (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) from the University of Florida was named to the 22-man roster for the 2008 USA Baseball National Team announced on Tuesday.

Gators still in it for Orson Charles

There is a big rumor swirling around that Orson Charles has eliminated the Florida Gators from consideration. It started on the message boards last week and quickly got out of control. According to the rumor, Charles, a 6-3, 230-pound tight end from Tampa Plant had narrowed his choices to Miami and Georgia but when Charles talked to Gator Country it was a completely different story.

Harrison comfortable after UF visit

Monday was overcast and dreary outside in Gainesville, but that didn't keep Jonotthan Harrison away. Harrison, a 6-4, 280-pound offensive lineman from Groveland South Lake came up to check out the University of Florida and by the time he left, he had a clear understanding of what the Gators are all about.

ACK: Road holds key for UF title hopes

It is those even calendar years that are always cause for the greatest anxiety for Florida fans, particularly if it’s a year in which the Gators look like they’re capable of making a run at a national championship. It was true in the 1990s when the Gators had to go on the road to visit Tennessee in Knoxville and FSU in Tallahassee and it remains true even today. To win it all means winning in those hostile environments.
