Giddens has lost count of offers

There aren’t many better defensive ends in the high school ranks than Ryne Giddins at coming off the edge and rushing the passer. As you might imagine judging from his ridiculous stats (21 sacks) as a junior at Seffner Armwood, there are so many scholarship offers on the table that it’s hard to keep track.

Byrnes will field a team loaded with senior prospects in the fall, and helping keep the dynasty going will be Brandon Willis, a 6-4, 240-pound defensive end who should be one of the top 2010 recruits in the entire state.

Ray Ray’s future is on defense

Watching him on film will make you dizzy. Every play he’s at a different position. One clip he’s at quarterback and hits his receiver in stride down the near sideline for a touchdown. Next clip, he takes an inside draw as the running back and slices through the middle of the defense like a knife.

Florida has many candidates for breakout performer this season. With such a young and talented roster many guys will have the opportunity to become household names. The offense has plenty of weapons and the offensive line could develop into Urban Meyer’s best. The defense has a new attitude and plenty of speed to compliment Charlie Strong’s aggressive defense. So will this year’s player that takes it to a new level be a new face or an old one?
