Different School, More Offers for Smith

Greg “JuJu” Smith has transferred from 2007-08 Central Section DII Champion Fresno (Calif.) Edison. He tells BarkBoard.com he recently relocated with family in the San Francisco Bay Area. However, the move has not stopped new offers from coming. Smith tells us Fresno State, UCLA, and USC are still among his favorites, but he says a lot more schools further east are showing interest.

Painter tells Donovan “I’m a Gator!”

Deshawn Painter arrived in Gainesville over the weekend feeling the warm and fuzzies about the Florida Gators, but after hanging around with the players and spending time with the coaches, he knew this is where he wanted to be. Sunday afternoon, he committed to Coach Billy Donovan, joining Vernon Macklin (transfer from Georgetown) and Erik Murphy of Southborough, Massachusetts in Florida’s basketball recruiting class of 2009.

DaShonte Riley Commits to Georgetown

DaShonte Riley, a 6-foot-11, 220-pound center from Beverly Hills (Mich.) Detroit Country Day who had gotten early recruiting interest, has committed to Georgetown, according to Scout.com's Evan Daniels. Riley visited Georgetown last weekend.
